Mus·ket·a·quid
n. 1. The place where the water flows through
the grasses, honoring the origins of Concord, MA. 2.
The Arts & Environment program of the Emerson Umbrella Center
for the Arts.
Musketaquid seeks to link discovery of art with
passion and respect for nature. Believing we can find our interconnection
with the earth through the arts, Musketaquid provides opportunities
to create and experience art while exploring and learning about
the local environment.
Musketaquid does this by organizing events and activities that
encourage and inspire people of all ages to experience, learn about,
celebrate, and protect the natural world by participating in
artistic and creative projects in a wide variety of media.
"Message on the Wind: Call and Response"
invites us to reflect on both animal and human behavior and is a
continuation of our focus on global warming. The "call"
can come from nature or from our fellow human beings, and the "response"
can be about both nature’s reactions to our actions and our response
to the challenges and opportunities we face. Artistically, “Call
and Response” can be visual, musical, sculptural, lyrical, or theatrical.
What do we need to do to live sustainably? Take your activism to
the arts! We’d love to hear from you! To connect, phone us at 978-371-0820
or email us.
